About Us

Sonia Wanzilu and Kwame Otieno are parents to three book-loving children who have helped them rediscover their love for reading. 

In their careers spanning over 20 years, they have had the opportunity to write Kenyan children's books, teach animation and film studies, produce educational TV shows, and create African animated content for children.

 Together, they have started DALA Library to honor their parents - avid readers and firm believers in the power of education, their children through whom this dream is realized, and their dala, from where they are rooted and to whom they give back. 

DALA Library is now a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and we invite you to join us on this journey.
